Valley Life Recreation is proud to announce the Thomas Sill Foundation as a new Platinum contributor to the Squirrel Hills Trail Park with a funding commitment of $20,000.
For over 30 years, the Thomas Sill Foundation has played an important part of charitable giving in Manitoba. In the 2020-2021 year (year ending July 31,2021), the foundation contributed $940,000 to projects in Winnipeg, Brandon, Churchill, and across the province.
Mr. Sill lived his entire life in Winnipeg and as described on the foundation website, practised as a chartered accountant for many years. He was an astute investor who built a fortune which became the basis for the Thomas Sill Foundation.
In his last will, Mr. Sill established the foundation which bears his name. His will, a measure of his astuteness, contained only this instruction:
“I have decided to create an entity for charitable purposes.”
Valley Life Recreation is proud to become a beneficiary of Mr. Sill’s generous intentions through the Thomas Sill Foundation.
The Board of VLR wishes to express their deep thanks to the Thomas Sill Foundation Board of Directors for their selection of the Squirrel Hills Trail Park project to receive this valuable funding.
VLR would also like thank them for their broad support of rural Manitoba, for which they are widely known, recognized and appreciated.
Construction of the Squirrel Hills Trail Park is planned for 2022.
